The Ogun State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru has said that some economic and environmental challenges facing manufacturing activities in the State have been resolved.
Speaking at the 13th quarterly meeting between Manufacturing Association of Nigeria (MAN), Ogun State branch and Ogun State government, held at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Ashiru noted that the State government was able to addressed some of the challenges, so as to create an enabling environment for the manufacturers.
He explained that the resolution of the challenges were done in accordance with world best practices, to improve ease of doing business, wealth creation and employment generation, reiterating the State government resolve to put an end to the activities of illegal haulage toll collectors, as anybody caught in the act would be arrested and prosecuted.
According to him, the tax harmonization drive of the State government was aimed at eradicating multiple revenue collection, as well as check leakages and short comings inherent in the old collection system.
Earlier, the new State Chairman of MAN, Mr. Saleem Adesunwa, commended government for the ongoing construction of overhead bridge at Igbesa and called for quick completion of the project, to avoid further loss of man hour, assuring that the association would continue to work with the State government at moving the State forward.
