WE’LL CONTINUE TO IMPROVE ON WORKERS’ WELFARE- OGSG

Ogun State Government has reiterated its commitment towards improving the welfare of workers in the State, who have been described as the engine room of government.

The Stat Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun stated this in his address during the 2018 Workers’ Day celebration, held at the M. K. O Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta.

The Governor, represented by his Deputy, Chief (Mrs.) Yetunde Onanuga said the workforce remained his priority, as they have been a strong force behind the successes recorded so far, assuring of payment of all outstanding dues and deductions before the end of the administration.

Amosun noted that his administration would upgrade the state civil service by providing necessary machinery to enable them measure up with its contemporaries in other countries, in the discharge of statutory duties.

“Government is proud of workers for demonstrating high sense of professionalism, accountability and enviable values, which has put the State in its leading position,” he said.

While expressing the need for civil servants to always reciprocate government’s gesture, the Governor urged them to ensure they keep the flag flying, as government intensify its efforts at creating workers friendly environment.

The Governor cautioned them to remain non partisan, by abiding by the civil service rules and other extant law binding them, as the general election approaches, pledging continuous efforts at sustaining the industrial harmony enjoyed in the State.

He called for collaborative efforts towards achieving the objectives of his administration’s rebuilding mission.

In their separate remarks, the State Chairman, Nigerian Labour Congress and State Chairman, Trade Union Congress, Comrades Akeem Ambali and Olubunmi Fajobi, appreciated government for its continuous efforts at putting the civil servants in its priority, calling for the reinstatement of sacked Labour leaders.
