The Ogun State Public Works Agency (OGPWA) has promised that it would not deviate from its resolve to rehabilitate major roads across the State, in order to make life better for its inhabitants.
Consultant to the Governor on Public Works, Arch. Gbenga Akintola, disclosed this during an exclusive interview with newsmen in Abeokuta, noting that, the neglect of the roads in recent years, coupled with heavy rainfall had impacted negatively on the people, thereby making life difficult for road users.
He revealed that rehabilitation work has commenced on major roads in Abeokuta metropolis, which includes Magbon-Oke-Mosan road, Kobape to Sagamu interchange, just as Governor Abiodun had declared operation zero tolerance on these roads in the state.
Akintola added that the Agency had begun work at Ado-Odo Ota, Owode-Yewa in Ogun West Senatorial District, while, interventions had been extended to Akesan market road, and Ilisan- Iperu road in Ikenne local government area, saying rehabilitation work has almost been completed on Bright fashion street, Hospital road, Ajegunle and Isale-Oko road in Sagamu.
He revealed that drainages were also constructed at Degun Street and Apostolic church road, Molipa Ijebu-Ode in Ogun East Senatorial District to make life comfortable for the people, assuring that, as soon as the rain subsided, massive efforts would be expedite on the repairs of roads in the three Senatorial Districts.
