The General Manager, Ogun State Water Corporation, Engr. Monsurat Agboola, said the agency has been able to hit 82.7 million naira Internally Generation Revenue (IGR) between the months of January and August, 2018.
Agboola made this known during the oversight function of the State House of Assembly Committee Member on Oil, Gas and Water Resources, to monitor the budget performance of the year 2018, held at the Corporation’s Conference Room in Abeokuta.
She said the IGR should have been higher than that but due to some major pipe lines that were eroded in the last flood incidents in the State, adding that epileptic power supply was another reason for the low IGR.
Assuring of providing more portable and clean water to the good people of the State, the General Manager said water production depend greatly on power supply, urging Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) on regular power supply to enable the corporation operates better.
Speaking, the House Committee Chairman, Hon. Jimi Otukoya applauded the performance of the Cooperation on the Internally Generation Revenue (IGR), saying they could still do better.
He urged the management to set up Committee that would be saddled with the responsibility of proper maintenance of water pipe lines across the State, noting that water was a key factor to life.
