UTILIZE SKILLS FOR PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, AMOSUN ADVISES SUMMER CAMPERS

The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has advised participants of the 2018 Ogun Summer Camp, to utilize all the skills they have acquired, for their personal advancement and nation’s development.

Governor Amosun who gave the advice, while hosting the 226 Campers at the Government house, Oke-Igbeyin, Abeokuta, posited that skills gained would serve as catalysts for their greatness in future, enjoining them to extend the spirit of friendship they have cultivated beyond the camp.

He implored them to emulate the legacies of prominent sons and daughters of the State, who had excelled in their chosen careers, saying, the camping exercise has given them the unique opportunity of meeting notable personalities like, Professor Wole Soyinka and Kenny Ogungbe.

The number one citizen in the State, urged them to put into practice, what they have learnt in, arts and crafts, as well as etiquette, assuring that, the annual summer camp would outlive the present administration.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Modupe Mujota, described this year’s camp, as an enlarged one, that has attracted participants from other states, noting that, the children, ranging between the ages of 10 to 15, have been put through various training in different fields.

The students, grouped into six Colours took turns to appreciate the State Government, for organising such programme, saying, it has broadened their horizon and given them opportunity to come in close contact with eminent personalities and distinguished Nigerians.

Meanwhile, the body of Permanent Secretaries in the State has commended the management of Ministry of Education, Science and Technology for its efforts at improving facilities at the ongoing summer camp.

The Secretary of the body, Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Cabinet and Special Services, Mr. Femi Kusimo, said, the experience garnered at the camp would forever linger in the minds of participants, charging parents whose children are yet to attend, to allow them take part next year.
