As a means of giving back to the society, Chairman, Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria, (RTEAN) Ogun State Chapter, Alhaji Titilayo Akibu has given succour to the Youths in Ijebu-Ode by empowering them with Tricycles and Motorcycles.
Speaking at the empowerment programme held in his Office at Ijebu-Ode,
Alhaji Akibu said, empowering the Youths has been in the front burner of his agenda, noting that the Youths are the Leaders of tomorrow and therefore needed to be engaged, ‘’as an idle hand is the devil’s work shop’’.
“The Empowerment programme will be batch by batch, this is the first
batch that we are witnessing; in three months’ time, another batch of Youths will benefit from this gesture. We want to be doing it so as to complement government’s efforts “, the RTEAN boss said.
He commended Governor Abiodun led administration for its laudable programmes, ranging from renovation and construction of classrooms, rehabilitation of roads, procurement of modern hospital equipment, which he said would make life meaningful for the People.
The Chairman urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity and not to sell the motorcycles or tricycles given to them, rather, use them as means of sustaining their livelihood.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Taye Dauda thanked the Chairman of
RTEAN for his kind gesture towards the Youths, saying this would serve as a good source of income and provide foods on their tables.
