The programme of events scheduled for my inauguration as the Executive Governor of Ogun State was wrapped up earlier today with a Thanksgiving Service at the Cathedral of St. Peters’ Church, Ake, Abeokuta. I read the first Bible passage which was taken from the book of 1st Kings 3:3-15.

The Diocesan Bishop of Egba, Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Adekunle in his message admonished me to run an effective government that will cater for the needs of our people, radically transform the education sector, show empathy to Retirees, and walks my talk by being fair, just, equitable and inclusive.

In my short address to the congregation, I reaffirmed my administration’s resolve to complete all pending projects left behind by the previous government.

I clarified that this decision was borne out of the fact that tax payers’ money had been deployed towards those projects and they must be duly completed for the overall benefit of everyone.

I also assured the gathering that our administration will give rural, township and industrial roads a priority attention with the revival of the defunct Public Works Department – PWD to be known as OGROMA, In addition, I stated that my government shall pursue an educational turn-around of the state. I further made known, our plan to conduct an Education Summit as well as develop a robust education master plan that will address the decadence in the sector and return the state to its enviable position.

I informed the audience of our resolve to provide the needed environment for a mutually beneficial Public Private Partnership (PPP) investment drive in the state while striving to make our economy the best amongst all.

In attendance at the event were my dear wife, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun, Deputy Governor, Her Excellency, Engr (Mrs.) Noimot Salako-Oyedele, former President Olusegun Obasanjo,

Former governor of the state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, former governor of Cross Rivers State, Donald Duke, all our Paramount Rulers and a host of other important personalities too numerous to mention.

My deepest appreciation goes to everyone who honoured me with their presence and I call for their continuous unflinching support.
