The Ogun State Ministry of Rural Development has defended its proposed budget of N11.87 Billion for year 2020 before members of the State House of Assembly, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Defending the budget, Director, Rural Electrification, Engr. Rasaki Ojetola, said the agency has proposed a total sum of N876 Million as recurrent expenditure, to cater for payment of salaries and allowances, which included leave bonuses.
He explained that the proposed N11 Billion for Capital project would include water scheme development, rural electrification, upgrading and construction of rural roads and culverts among others.
Speaking earlier, Hon. Ganiyu Oyedeji charged management of the Ministry to make sure they inform Assembly members, whenever a project was being embarked upon in their constituencies.
Also speaking, Hon. Akeem Balogun stressed the importance of the Ministry to overall development of the State, assuring that the proposed budget would be looked into, since the honourable members are from rural Areas.
