Ogun State Government has declared that it would continue to embrace supports from well meaning individuals and corporate bodies on her efforts at improving the educational sector.
Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Modupe Mujota made this declaration at the commissioning of a block of four classrooms and toilet facilities donated by Shell Nigeria Oil and Gas Limited to Ilogbo-Asowo Community High School, Ilogbo Ota, in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the State.
Mujota added that the present administration under the leadership of Senator Ibikunle Amosun has invested massively in the sector, in order to give every child of school age unhindered access to qualitative and affordable education.
The Commissioner who was represented by the Director Secondary Education, Mrs. Abosede Ogunleye said the donation made by the Company through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) was timely, which she noted would make both students and teachers more comfortable, as well as improve the quality of teaching and learning.
She appreciated the management of the company for the gesture, promising that the structure would be positively utilized for the betterment of the students.
Earlier in his remark, a representative of the Company, Mr. Yemi Solar said the company’s investment in the education sector, particularly on Science and Technical Education was to inspire young ones to lead emerging technological advancement in the country, assuring that it would not relent in its efforts at creating a better future for the upcoming generation.
In her welcome address, the Principal of the school, Mrs. Atinuke Babatunde appreciated the government and the donor company for the gesture, noting that the provision would cater for the ever increasing population of the community.
