The Permanent Secretary, Public Service Transformation Office (PSTO), Mr. Jola Oyeneye, has charged the Hospital Management Team (HMT) of the State Hospital, Ilaro, to create more awareness in the communities and other areas of its coverage for more patronage, thereby improving the health status of the citizenry.
Mr. Oyeneye gave the charge during an unscheduled visit paid to the Hospital, in furtherance of the agency’s mandate, in ensuring effective service delivery in the State’s Civil Service, saying PSTO aimed to reform and co-ordinate Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), with focus on reforms and innovations, for positive impact in the lives of the people.
He urged the management to organise programmes in the communities to showcase medical equipment available, which according to him, would boost the people’s confidence in government’s commitment to effective healthcare delivery, applauding the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration for the newly acquired equipment, as well as renovation of the Hospital.
“You can organize free blood pressure checks, Family Planning campaigns and other free services for the communities around you and use the opportunity to let them know the types of equipment and conducive environment for effective healthcare delivery”, Oyeneye said.
Responding, the Chief Nursing Officer, Mrs. Hajarat Omotesho, appreciated the visit, promising that the Management would work in synergy with PSTO, to ensure better service delivery.
