The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has disclosed that his administration adopted an inclusive approach in its pursuit to have the best hands in government and that appointing more political appointees into his cabinet ‘’is still a continuous process’’.
Governor Abiodun who made this known at the Special Jumat Service to mark the year 2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration, held at the Central Mosque, Kobiti, Abeokuta, added that Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants and more people would be appointed into Boards and Parastatals, all in an effort to build the future of the State together.
“Like I said at the swearing in ceremony, we cannot appoint everybody, those that have been appointed are meant to serve as arrow heads for us at our various Local Governments. We still have a few more Advisers, perhaps, a few more Commissioners, as we deem necessary”, he said.
Abiodun said his administration would continue to do its best to support security agencies in the State, assuring that all the demands made by the Nigerian Legion would be looked into.
“Today I want to reiterate to the Nigerian Legion that we will continue to support you, I want to confirm to you that I have told the relevant people in my team to begin to work on your demands’’, he assured.
In his sermon, the Mufasr of Egbaland, Alhaji Dr.Taofik Amolegbe, said the essence of the Day was to recognize the value of the country’s past heroes, adding that the heroes been remembered today ‘’were like mothers who strive daily to ensure that nothing bad happens to their children’’.
Amolegbe implored government not to end the day with just a remembrance Day, but should move a step further to ensure that those left behind by the country’s heroes were well taken care of, adding that it should continue to do all within its powers to make sure that the labour of the heroes past was not in vain.
