Women have been enjoined to be more proactive in the development of their various communities by joining Community Development Associations (CDAs) to add value and contribute meaningfully to further move the State to an enviable height.
The Ogun State Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs.) Yetunde Onanuga said this at the 4-day basic citizenship and Leaders Training course organised for community leaders at Shasha in Iperu Remo, Ogun State.
Onanuga who was amazed by the turn-out of women in the programme said she did not believe that women could leave their families to participate in a 4-day programme, calling for more involvement of women in CDA activities.
‘’On the issue of our women, I am happy with the numbers, even though I would have loved more women to participate’’, She added.
In his remark, the Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperative Hon. Gbenga Adenmosun, assured that government, under the leadership of Senator Ibikunle Amosun would continue to play its part, urging community leaders to continue supporting e government for the enhancement of social and infrastructural development in the State.
Earlier in his address, the Course Coordinator, Mr. Olanrewaju Fajoyin, said for an organisation to excel in its undertakings, regular training and re-training of its personnel was essential, describing the Association’s contributions to the rural development and Urban renewal agenda of the present administration, as enormous, he said members would continue to be given necessary exposure to enhance productivity.
