Ogun State government is set to launch a distress call number that would allow members of the public have direct access and alert government in case of emergencies.
Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Olatokunbo Talabi, revealed this at the Ogun State Security Summit, organised by the Christian Association of Nigerian (CAN), Ogun State Chapter in Abeokuta.
Talabi said there was need to support the security agencies towards tackling crimes and emergency situations, saying, “when there is emergency, be it fire, armed robbery, there must be a number to call. Government is putting up call centres, number will be released soon and everybody is expected to have it”.
The SSG implored the general public to report any happening that may threaten the security of lives and property in their environment to security personnel for quick intervention.
