As part of measures to enhance revenue generation needed for socio-economic development, Ogun State Government is set to begin distribution of Land Use and Amenities Charge Bill for property owners.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Mr. Hassan Adekunle made this known in his office during a media chat in Abeokuta, hinting that distribution of the Bill would be for industrial, commercial and residential property owners across the State.
Mr. Adekunle noted that the State Government had further made payment of the Land Use and Amenities Charge convenient, calling on property owners to ensure prompt payment of the charge online by using the REMITA platform at any commercial bank nationwide and other stipulated government channels.
“Payments of Bill of demand notices can be made online via https://pay.luac.ogunstate.gov.ng or by using the REMITA platform which comes with a unique Payment Code at any bank branch nationwide. The demand notice now has a QR Code for validation of the bill from the Ogun State Government. Receipts for payment are now automatically generated once payments are made, hence customers will no longer need to visit our office for payment clearance”, he stated.
The Permanent Secretary enjoined the people to comply with Government officials’ instructions, adding that ‘’non-compliance will result in confiscation of the property on which the charge is payable through a sealing order by the Court, filed by the State to its appointed agent, until all outstanding taxes, penalties, and administrative charges are paid’’.
