In preparation for the forthcoming Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Ogun State Council election, the Information Chapel of the union has organised a debate to avail candidates the opportunity to present their manifestoes to the members.

Speaking at the event which took place at the Governor’s Office Press Centre, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the outgoing State Chairman of the Union, Comrade Wole Sokunbi, called on aspirants to eschew politics of bitterness as the elections was a family affair.

He appreciated members for their support to the outgoing Exco, assuring that he would remain neutral, but work towards ensuring the emergence of a new executive that would take the union to greater height.

In his remark, the Chairman of the Chapel, Comrade Wole Dosunmu implored members to come out en-mass on the election day to vote for the candidate of their choice that would represent the interest of the chapel at Council level.

Presenting his manifesto, Comrade Ayokunle Ewuoso, who is contesting for the post of secretary, promised that if elected, would join hands to develop the new union secretariat.

On his part, Comrade Adegoke Oyebade, who is also aspiring for the post of Secretary, promised that the secretariat would be made a beehive of intellectual activities, if elected.
