Determined to boost local production and consumption of Dairy as well as expand its value chain activities, the Ogun State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with Fan Milk Nig. Plc.
Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi signed on behalf of the Government while the French Consul General, Jerome Pasquier sealed the partnership deal on behalf of Fan Milk Plc.
Speaking during the signing at the Executive Chamber, Governor’s office, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun assured that the partnership will among other things, kick off a dairy backwards integration project for the improvement of the State’s agricultural value chain and enhancement of local dairy production.
The State’s helmsman assured the company of continued cooperation and the provision of enabling environment in order for them to have seamless and hitch free operation in the State.
Speaking earlier, Pasquier said the company is planning to
develop a flagship dairy farm, including pasture development and the launch of a Danone training institute for local farmers, within the Odeda Farm Institute in the Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State
“Ogun State is one of the most successful states in Nigeria as witnessed in many spheres and we are happy to identify with this state. Today is a great milestone in the history of this company, it will definitely contribute to the development of the country, discourage importation,create employment and increase food production”, he said.
