The Ogun State government has said that the February edition of the monthly environmental sanitation would hold on Saturday, February 24, 2018, between the hours of 7am and 10am.

According to the statement, signed by the Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Bolaji Oyeleye, said there would be full restriction of human and vehicular movement across the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) of the State.

It added that Mobile courts would be set up at strategic locations for the prosecution of violators of the environmental law.

The statement urged residents to participate in the exercise and cultivate the habit of clearing their drainages as the rainy season approaches, reiterating governments zero tolerance for indiscriminate dumping of refuse and waste on the road medians.

The statement therefore solicited for the continual support of law enforcement agencies and the general public in its efforts at promoting a clean, safe and healthy environment for all.
