The Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development will on Thursday March 8, 2018, join the rest of the world to celebrate 2018 International Women’s Day.
The event with the theme, “Press for Progress,” will be chaired by the Wife of the State Governor, Dr (Mrs.) Olufunso Amosun at the Valley View Audutorium, Oke-Igbeyin, Abeokuta, beginning from 9.00am.
A release by the Commissioner in the Ministry, Mrs Abiola Kufile-Okonji, indicated that the occasion would feature talks on the theme of the celebration, to be presented by Prof. (Mrs.) Olubunmi Ashimolowo and the recently passed bill on violence against persons to be delivered by Dr (Mrs.) Abiola Akiode.
Other events lined up according to the release included, health talk by Mr. Adebayo Sokunbi, while Dufil Nigeria Limited would empower two women living with disabilities at the event.
Dignitaries expected at the occasion are the State Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs.) Yetunde Onanuga, members of the House of Assembly Committee on Women Affairs, non- governmental organisations among others.
It enjoined all invited guests to be seated by 8.30am.
