OGUN GOVT. HOUSE CHAPEL CELEBRATES MRS AMOSUN AT 52

The wife of Ogun State Governor and founder, UPLIFT Development Foundation, Dr (Mrs.) Olufunso Amosun has been lauded for her humility and service to humanity, particularly through her UPLIFT programme, geared towards encouraging students to work hard and come out with distinctions in the SSCE, to qualify for the free leadership training in the United Kingdom.

Speaking during a special thanksgiving service organised in her honour at the Government House Chapel, Oke-Igbein, Abeokuta, to commemorate her 52nd birthday anniversary, Revd. Dr. Emmanuel Ajayi rejoiced with the Amosun family, especially on the achievements of the Governor in moving the state forward, noting that Mrs. Amosun has complemented her husband’s effort, in giving succour to the less privileged in the society.

Revd. Ajayi said the days of mankind was limited, therefore people should be mindful of how they spend their years on earth, by examining themselves in the mirror of the word of God, so as to key into their divine purpose.

In her remarks, Mrs. Amosun appreciated the congregation for their love and continued support for her and this administration, promising that she would not rest on her oars, at sustaining the her UPLIFT programme, aimed at improving the lives of women and children, as well as advance the work of God in the State.

Represented by the Wife of the Special Adviser to the State Government on Energy, Mrs Bisi Fagbemi, Mrs. Amosun thanked God for the great opportunity to witness another year and everyone who had graced the service, praying for God’s mercy and guidance upon their lives.

She charged the congregation and all Nigerians to continue to pray for peace and harmony to reign in the country, stressing that it was only in the atmosphere of peace that the economy would improve and the lives of people would be secured.

Also speaking, the State Head of Service Mr. Abayomi Sobande thanked God for the life of Mrs. Amosun and commended her motherly role and constant support for public servants and the needy, praying that the Almighty God would continue to uphold, protect and bless her and her family.
