A newly posted Area Commander, to Yewa North and Imeko-Afon Local Government Areas, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Monday Agbonika has commended the Senator Ibikunle Amosun-led administration, for supporting Security Agencies in the State, with the provision of necessary tools to enhance their performances.
Agbonika, who is the pioneer Commander in the area, stated this in an interview with newsmen, after Peace and Security meeting, held at Ayetoro, headquarters of Yewa North Local Government, lauding government’s efforts for the procurement of more sophisticated gadgets for security operatives in the State.
He assured that the Police would continue to collaborate with other security agencies in the State to sustain the peaceful atmosphere being enjoyed during the tenure of the present government.
The ACP pledged that, as the 2019 general elections draw near, the Police would double their efforts at protecting residents and ensure free and fair polls, admonishing parents to caution their children not to be used by any politicians, for political violence.
The Police Boss further said that, efforts are on top gear to see that Fulani herdsmen/Farmer clash were curbed, revealing that, meetings with stakeholders in the area are ongoing, to put an end to the menace.
In his remark, the host Chairman, Hon. Rasaq Adeagbo, promised to continually support all security agencies in their domains, saying, the collaboration had yielded positive result, as residents can now go to bed with their two eyes closed.
