A total of 112 units of one-bedroom, semi detached bungalows have been allocated to various allottees, at the Valley View Estate, Oke-Ata, Abeokuta, by Ogun State Housing Corporation.
Handing over keys to beneficiaries, the State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun said the completion, as well as the allocation of the buildings to beneficiaries was the government’s mandate to provide affordable housing for all categories of its citizenry.
Represented by the Chairman, Ogun State Housing Corporation Board, Alhaja Bashiru Fadairo, the Governor added that the estate was built, following the outcome of an affordability assessment conducted on the staffers of the Corporation and interested members of the public, noting that there was room for expansion into two to three bedroom apartments.
Also speaking, the Corporation’s Head of Building and Project Manager of the estate, Mr. Olusoji Ogunleye said, one of the key mandates of the organisation was the delivery of affordable houses to the people of the State, assuring that the Corporation would not rest on its oars to ensure drastic reduction in housing deficit.
He informed that the Corporation would provide a residential manual for the beneficiaries, encouraging them to form residents’ association, to manage the infrastructures provided at the estate.
Reacting, some of the beneficiaries, Messrs Bolanle Jesuretire, Mosunmola Orekoya, Jide Malomo and Jacob Ogunshile commended the quality of work done on the buildings and expressed gratitude to the Governor and management of the corporation, promising to take adequate care of the infrastructures and abide by the rules guiding the estate.
