As part of efforts to improve staff productivity in the State’s Civil and Public Service, the Ogun State government has embarked on the first phase of free medical check up for its workforce.
Flagging- off the programme at the Governor’s Office Clinic, Oke-Mosan Abeokuta, where security personnel, drivers and Governor’s press crew were examined, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Olatokunbo Talabi, pointed out the importance of regular medical check-ups and exercises.
He said the programme was conceived to promote productivity among workers, as well as given priority to their health status, promising that the screening exercise would be extended to other workers in the State.
The State’s scribe enjoined workers to give adequate attention to their health, saying, “a healthy individual is a healthy society”.
Earlier, the Medical Doctor attached to the clinic, Dr. Adekunle Adeyemi advised workers to always monitor their health, life styles and regularly embark on medical check-up to ascertain their health conditions.
Speaking on behalf of beneficiaries, security personnel attached to the Governor’s Office, Mr. Samuel Caleb and a driver, Mr. Sakiru Ajibola, commended government’s move, saying the exercise was unique and would help them to know their status for effective discharge of duties.
