Ogun State Government’s drive in the area of Information Technology (IT) has again clinched national recognition awards as the Best State in ICT Infrastructure Development and second runner up award in ICT Human-Capital Development from the National Council on Communication and Digital Economy.
Presenting the awards on behalf of the Council, the Gombe State Commissioner for Information Science and Technology, Dr. Aishatu Usman Maigari, said the awards were in recognition of the State’s commitment to ICT development, noting that Ogun ranked first among the States that placed high premium on developing the sector.
Receiving the awards on behalf of the State Government, the Director of ICT, Bureau of Information Technology, Mrs. Olatundun Adekunte, appreciated the Council for the timely recognition, saying such awards would spur the State in its efforts at ensuring Information Science and Technology driven society.
‘’This is not the time to sit down at our comfort zone, rather, this would encourage us to continue to give our best in making sure that Ogun State citizens and residents become relevant with the usage of Information Technology’’, Ogun state Director of ICT, Mrs. Adekunte said.
