OGUN ASSEMBLY MEDIATES  ON MOWE CHIEFTAINCY CRISIS

In its quest to promote peaceful co-existence among the people, Ogun State House of Assembly has mediated in the crisis surrounding the conferment of a traditional title, Babaloja in Mowe, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area between the concerned parties.

The Assembly through its Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs led by Hon. Akeem Balogun, has affirmed the collective decision of elders and leaders of Igbeinland and Mowe community between concerned parties that Nurudeen Aina Alowonle is the new Babaloja of Mowe Land.

Balogun, made the pronouncement shortly after the concerned parties in the Community articulated their resolution as presented during a meeting with the representative of Alake and Oluwo of Igbeinland, Chief Atanda Odesola, Baale of Imedunla, Mowe Town, Chief Jimoh Adebayo and other chiefs at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, with commendation to them to embrace peace through dialogue.

Earlier, the representative of one of the concerned parties, who is the Asiwaju of Mowe, Chief Olusegun Ewedimu, briefed the lawmakers on the efforts of the Community leaders to resolve the issue through internal peace dialogue mechanism, having engaged both parties in mutual discussion at ensuring harmonious relationship between them to advance development of the area.
