OGUN ASSEMBLY HONOURS 39 RETIRED WORKERS

The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Suraju Ishola Adekunbi, has eulogized retired members of staff of the legislative arm of the State for their contributions to the successes recorded by the 8th Legislature.

The Speaker gave the commendation at the send forth, organised for 39 members of staff who retired from service between 2012 and 2018, saying that, the landmark achievements recorded by the Senator Ibikunle Amosun led- administration, especially, all the five cardinal programmes, were made possible with the support of the workforce spread across the Executive, legislative and Judicial arms of government.

Adekunbi explained that the event was an avenue to further highlight government’s commitment to the welfare of workers, just as he charged the entire workforce in the State to be more dedicated to their duties and responsibilities.

He commended the retirees for their patience, cooperation, understanding and sense of good working relationship during their years of meritorious service to the State.

The Speaker added that Governor Amosun had on several occasions commended the State’s workforce, who had been adjudged the best in the comity of States across the nation, recalling that, the legacies left behind by the forebears in the State Civil Service was exemplary.

Earlier in his remarks, the State Head of Service, Elder Abayomi Sobande, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Service Matters, Mrs Modupe Bosede, stated that the State Government was irrevocably committed to the welfare of its workers.

Sobande, who acknowledged the significant contributions of the civil servants to the development of the State, assured them of improved welfare, while tasking those still in service to continue to contribute their quota to the upliftment of the public service in the State.
