OGUN ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE SUMMONS ODUSOLU, REQUESTS PROBE OF FORMER HOSPITAL ACCOUNTANT

Committed to promoting accountability, probity and transparency, Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Public Account and Anti-corruption has summoned a former Managing Director of the State Property and Investment Corporation (OPIC), Mr. Babajide Odusolu to appear before it, on the need to clarify issues on the financial records of the Corporation between 2015 and 2019 with a view to addressing all issues raised in relation to audit reports during the period.

This is even as the Committee also referred the immediate past Head of Finance, State Hospital, Ijebu-Ode to the relevant government agencies for further investigation and disciplinary actions upon consideration of the audit reports of the Hospital.

Members of the House Committee led by Hon. Musefiu Lamidi issued the summon, during the consideration of the audit reports of the Corporation as presented by the Special Assistant to the incubent Managing Director, Mr. Olumide Olaiya, while the financial reports of the State Hospital, Ijebu-Ode was presented by the Chief Medical Director, Dr. (Mrs.) Oluseyi Adetola at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Lamidi in company of other lawmakers, directed the former Managing Director to appear before the Committee on October 7, 2020 for clarifications on the activities of the Corporation during his tenure.

He tasked all Accounting Officers of the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government to be more proactive in the discharge of their duties, reaffirming that the Committee remained committed to upholding the tenet of accountability and transparency towards ensuring value for government resources.
