Sequel to the presentation of the 2020 budget proposal to the Ogun State House of Assembly by the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo has called on Heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of Government to appear before the relevant House Standing Committees from Monday, December 16, 2019, for their budget defence.

While preparing for the budget defence, the Speaker enjoined the Heads of the MDAs to forward thirty five copies each of their budget estimates and the softcopy, to the Assembly on or before Friday, December 13, 2019, while appearance schedule for the exercise would be released in due course.

The Speaker said the exercise would commence 10.00am each day at the Conference Room 215, Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, while enjoining all MDAs to adhere to their budget defence schedule.

Meanwhile, Speaker Oluomo has acknowledged the efforts of the State Public Works Agency at putting in place palliative measures on deplorable roads across the State, with a charge on them to step up plans towards expanding their scope of work to cover more roads in all parts of the State.

Oluomo made the submission, while responding to his Deputy, Oludare Kadiri, who spoke under Personal Explanation, on the condition of roads in his Ijebu North State constituency.

The Speaker noted that the failed portions on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway were currently being attended to by government, just as he assured that other roads in the State were already receiving attention, while calling on the House Committee on Works and Infrastructure to liaise with the State Ministry of Works, as well as the State Public Works Agency to expedite actions on other roads in the State.
