Apparently heeding government call for partnership to further raise the standard of education in Ogun State, the State Auditor General, Mr. Babajide Olubanjo has donated stationery and other instructional materials to his Alma Mater, St. Michael Catholic Primary School, Igede Alaro, Ijebu North East Local Government Area.
Addressing pupils of the school after making the donation, Olubanjo said it has been his passion to give back to the society and help to promote education in his local government area, saying, the gesture was in fulfilment of that cherished dream.
‘’Most of my character was moulded as a primary school pupil, my best friends were met here years back, we were not only given academic knowledge, but invaluable life skills which went a long way to make us successful now,’’ he said.
The Auditor General enjoined the pupils to be diligent in their studies and obey the school rules, pointing out that there was no shortcut to success, but by hard work, calling on them to distinguish themselves among the multitudes to make the school and the community proud.
He charged the teachers to be more diligent in discharging their duties, pointing out that, if the pupils were tutored well, more leaders of tomorrow would emerge from the school.
Mr. Olubanjo also gave out cash prizes to primary six pupils who took first, second and third positions in the first terminal examination and urged the rest to emulate them so as to benefit from such gesture in the future.
