Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has disclosed that his administration will be donating a dining hall for the use of students of Ijebu Muslim College, Ijebu-Ode, with a call on everyone to see the task of building as a collective effort, and not just a job for government alone.
Governor Abiodun who stated this in Ijebu-Ode at the 70th special anniversary luncheon and award ceremony of the College, commended the old students of the school for their initiative and contribution towards the development of their alma-mater, promising his administration’s continued support to the growth of the school.
“Let me commend the old students of this school for their initiative. I must say that I have not seen such a dedicated and committed set of old students of any institution, no doubt, this hall you have built is a positive addition to the infrastructure of this school, it has also enhanced the school, you have all written your names in gold”, he said.
Abiodun maintained that his administration was operating an open door policy that would aid all round development of the State, appreciating individuals and organizations for their support and collaboration in the ‘’Building our Future Together’’ agenda.
In his remarks, the National President, Ijebu Muslim College Old Students Association, (IMCOSA), Engr. Kayode Shote commended Governor Abiodun for his kind gesture, appealing to the State government to assist the school in providing apartments within the school premises for teachers and youth corps members posted to the school.
He added that the Association would continue to support every efforts of government in the provision of infrastructure and also give necessary assistance to meet the challenges of inadequate funding of secondary schools.
