Youths across the three Senatorial Districts of Ogun State have been assured of government’s support in establishing their businesses to further boost small and medium scale enterprises in the State.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Mrs. Lydia Fajounbo made this known while speaking with newsmen in her Office, at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, on the forthcoming Micro, Small, Medium Scale enterprises (MSMEs) clinic.
She said the present administration was committed to improving the economy of the State by strengthening the micro economic sector, calling on youths not to be afraid of starting small, rather, take advantage of opportunities made available by the present administration to improve on their status and contribute to the development of the State.
“The present administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun is highly committed to improving the economy and will continue to encourage our youths to go into small scale businesses. This government is ready to support our youths in terms of access to loans, business premises, registration and ease of doing business to enable their enterprises grow adequately”, she said.
The Permanent Secretary added that the Ministry was working in synergy with relevant stakeholders, such as Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Small, Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), Nigerian Export Promotion Council of Nigeria (NEPC) and others to facilitate business registration, packaging, promotion and access to loans.
She noted that the MSMEs clinic for Ogun East Senatorial district would hold in Ijebu-ode on October 16, 2019 while that of Ogun West and Ogun Central Senatorial District holds on October 23 and October 30, 2019 respectively.
