The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has reiterated his commitment of better welfare package for workers and traditional rulers by ensuring prompt payment of salaries and emoluments as and when due.
The Governor made this known at the reception organised for him by the Association of Remo Indigenes in Public Service, Ogun State Chapter, at the Remo Traditional Hall, Akarigbo Palace, Ita-Oba, Sagamu.
Represented by his Consultant on Political Matters, Hon. Adebiyi Adeneye, Abiodun assured of better days ahead for workers and Monarchs, saying his administration would ensure even distribution of dividend of democracy to the nooks and crannies of the State.
Also Speaking at the event, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Education, Mrs. Ronke Soyombo, maintained government’s resolve on qualitative education and was ready to recruit 1500 teachers to fill existing vacancies in primary schools across the State.
The Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, in his remarks, appreciated the public servants for their efforts, urging the Dapo Abiodun led government to adopt the Remo-Ijebu-Yewa-Egba (RIYE) style, for smooth governance and ensure equal representation in office.
In his goodwill message, retired Head of Service, Chief Dipo Odulate, appealed to Remo indigenes to cooperate and utilize the opportunity provided by the present administration to uplift Remoland.
On his part, Chairman of the event, Asiwaju Solomon Onafowokan, advised indigenes to remember home and contribute to the development of the community, saying, “our responsibility is to have Mega City, we need development, let’s work for it. Investment is not sentimental, so let’s encourage and support investors and people in the State”.
Earlier in his welcome address, President of the Association, Ogun State Chapter, Mr. Abdul-Nojeem Olayinka, thanked Remo Traditional Council and all prominent Remo sons and daughters for their support for making the event a success, noting that the association was the umbrella body for the Unity of Remo indigenes in the public service, with the cardinal focus of being good ambassadors of Remoland.
Other dignitaries at the occasion included; Consultant to the Governor on Media, Mrs. Modele Sarafa-Yusuf, Hon. Adeniran Ademola (Sapele), retired Permanent Secretary, Sir Babatunde Runsewe, President, Remo Progressives Association, Olootu Michael Oyedele amongst others.
