The Ogun State Government says school Principals sponsored on training to Dubai was to equip them on modern trends in school administration, with a view of replicating and inculcating the acquired skills on others for better administrative system in the State.
The Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor on Primary, Secondary and Technical Education, Mrs. Ronke Soyombo, disclosed this in Abeokuta, while fielding questions from newsmen after six school Principals, led by the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) President, Ogun State Chapter, Dr. (Mrs.) Ayodele Womiloju, arrived the country, saying the gesture was the beginning of more trainings for school administrators in the State.
“Government actually sent six of our principals to Dubai for leadership programme to update their leadership skills so they can become better leaders and also come back to cascade these to other principals in the State. This is just a tip of the iceberg, because the Governor wants our schools to get better and have very good standard”, she said.
The Special Adviser pointed out that the principals were chosen across the State because of their exemplary leadership styles, noting that government would ensure the beneficiaries excel in school administration.
In her response, ANCOPSS President, Mrs. Womiloju, appreciated government for the exposure, which she said would enable beneficiaries impart the training in schools, so as to take the State to another pedestal, intimating that the training included; management in multi-cultural setting, which would assist in the socio-cultural development of the State, as well as the country.
