In preparation for the commencement of construction on the 10km Lusada -Igbesa Road, the Ogun State Government has compensated owners of 232 structures affected by the project.
Speaking at the occasion held at Salvation Army Primary School, Igbesa, the State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Arch. Olamilekan Adegbite, said that this was the first time since 2011 that compensation would be brought to the community of the beneficiaries.
“The State Government in its magnanimity has decided to bring this compensation exercise to Igbesa to ease the difficulty the beneficiaries might encounter if they come to Abeokuta to collect their bank drafts,’’ he said
The Commissioner hinted that the 10km road which would be completed between six to eight months would enhance accessibility and improve the livelihood of the people of the area, imploring residents to cooperate with the engineers and contractors to ensure the speedy completion of the project.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr Imonite Lucky, expressed his gratitude to the State government for the unique gesture and understanding on the payment of the compensation to them at their location, Igbesa, as he equally acknowledges that the project would bring development to the town.
