In an effort to reduce gridlock and ameliorate the sufferings of road users plying the Brewery-Olomore road along Lagos-Abeokuta express way, Ogun State Government has commenced rehabilitation work on the failed portions of the road.
The Project Contractor, Engr. Joseph Adegbesan revealed that the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun gave the directive for immediate palliative work to be done with pouring of hardcore and stone base to fill bad portions and clearing of waterways to allow free flow of water.
Adegbesan said work to be done include, construction of culvert across the road to link the surface run-off to Ogun river, after which asphalt laying would commence for free flow of traffic, as well as full construction of drainage.
The Vice Chairman, Road Transport Employees Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) Obada -Oko / Ifo branch, Mr.Oluseye Adesina commended the State Government for mobilising contractor to the area, saying this would reduce time spent in traffic.
He urged government to work on other bad portions along the stretch of Abeokuta-Sango Ota road to ease vehicular movement, enhance development and boost business activities along the corridor.
