The Ogun State Government has promised that it would not neglect projects that would be beneficial to rural dwellers, as they are important to the present administration just like those in the urban areas of the State.

Governor Dapo Abiodun who made the promise while commissioning projects in Ifo Local Government Area assured that every ward in the State would feel the presence of the Government irrespective of dwindling economy around the world.

“I want to assure you that every ward in the State will feel the impact of our administration irrespective of the dwindling economy around the world or effect of COVID- 19, we are not deterred, we will do more to bring comfort to our people whether rural or urban” The Governor submitted.

 Governor Abiodun represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, said the grants given to Local Councils to undertake various projects was to make them more functional, noting that every citizen is entitled to enjoy dividends of democracy.

Projects commissioned include, drilling of borehole with stanchion at Primary Health Centre, Okenla Ifo and Primary Health Centre, Olose and their environs, re-construction/renovation of Primary Health Centre at Maidan as well as construction of a block of 3 classrooms at Zumratul Islamiyyah Primary School. Ishasi.

In his welcome address, Chairman Transition Committee in the Local Government, Folawewo Salami said the primary purpose of governance after leadership is provision of infrastructural development as well as job creation which he noted the present administration has displayed effortlessly.

He commended the governor for allowing Local Government Councils enjoy autonomy as enshrined in the constitution.
