Wife of Ogun State Governor, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun has been honoured as Grand Matron of the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Ogun State Branch, for her immense contribution to the education sector.
Accepting the honour bestowed on her during ANCOPSS’ 39th Annual Congress, held at Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, Mrs. Abiodun said she would continue to support the actualization of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, in making quality education available to all children, with an assurance of improved education system across the State
She commended the Principals for their diligence, discipline and dedication, which she noted had impacted positively in the lives of the students, advising them not to relent, bearing in mind that children were usually exposed to various vices in their teens.
According to the Wife of the Governor, ‘’His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun is actively working to improve the education system in Ogun State and as champion of united Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), I am indeed confident and committed to the achievement of the Goal 4, meant to ensure all student were given the opportunity to receive quality education”.
In her goodwill message, Ogun State Head of Service, Mrs. Amope Chokor, lauded the contributions of ANCOPSS to the development of education in the State, regarding them as true partners in progress, saying the body has been a rallying point for all principals and other stakeholders in the sector.
Mrs. Chokor admonished principals to continue to set good morals, academic and extra-curricular standards for teachers and students, as well as take adequate care of infrastructure and facilities in schools, ensure discipline among staff and students and monitor admission of students in schools.
Earlier in her address, the President, Ogun ANCOPSS, Dr. Mrs. Olubunmi Womiloju, expressed appreciation to Governor Abiodun for prompt payment of salaries and the approval of the delayed 2016 and 2017 promotion for all grade levels in the teaching profession, pledging the body’s unalloyed support to the present administration to ensure realisation of the desired goal for the education sector.
