LG WORKERS RE-ASSURED OF BETTER WELFARE PACKAGE

The Chairman, Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, Comrade Rotimi Rahmon, has re-assured workers of the 20 local governments and 37 local council development areas of better welfare and improved service conditions in order for them to perform effectively.

Rahmon who gave the assurance while addressing workers of Yewa North Local Government at Ayetoro, during the working visit, said it was the responsibility of government to provide its workforce with necessary tools for to be able to deliver its statutory functions.

He assured Council workers across the State that the Senator Ibikunle Amosun led-administration was not resting of its oars at ensuring that workers get their salaries regularly, attain trainings programmes and get additional welfare packages for the betterment of their lives.

“I am re-assuring you that workers welfare in Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas in Ogun State are given preference, because to get the best from workers throughout the world, you must ensure that their welfare is adequately taken care off,” he said.

The Chairman stressed the need for council workers to shun corruption in whatever form because of their closeness to the people at the grassroots, adding that it was time the Council workers rededicated themselves to the programme and policies of the State government by ensuring all dues and levies collected are used for the development of their areas.

In his welcome address, the Head of Yewa North Local Government Administration, Alh. Lasisi Ajo, said the workforce has been contributing meaningfully to the developmental strides of the present administration, charging workers to be more resourceful towards recording all round development in the council.

The Chairman, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Yewa North Chapter, Comrade Temidayo Fatokun, commended the leadership style of Senator Amosun for his prompt payment of salaries and infrastructural development in the State in the face of economic challenges.
