In a bid to perform optimally in the responsibility of projecting various programmes of government, the Ogun State Ministry of Information and Strategy has pleaded for full access to the 2020 proposed Capital Expenditure.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr. Abiodun Awere made the plea at the 2019, Treasury Board Meeting held at the Oba’s Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Awere said the proposed N171, 605,027 Capital Expenditure for the coming year would be used to procure needed equipment such as, public address systems, Outdoor Broadcasting van (OB van), cameras and more importantly, empower the Feedback Unit of the Ministry, which would be used to disseminate various government activities.
He also requested for purchase of project vehicles, which he noted was essential for the Ministry to move round to capture all on-going developmental projects across the State, pledging to meet up with the proposed N22.5m revenue for 2020 Budget, despite that it was not a revenue generating agency.
In his response, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, represented by his deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, promised to look into the plight of the Ministry, charging it not to limit itself to the local media but also harness the advantages of the social media in disseminating government’s programmes.
Abiodun urged the Ministry to engage in strategic plans at ensuring its productions were in tandem with government’s mission, while other Ministries, Departments and Agencies should be given necessary publicity.
