Ogun State government has commended the executives and members of staff of Iju/ Atan /Ilogbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) led by Hon. Jamiu Yakub Ajayi in Ogun West Senatorial District for its people- oriented projects that have turned around the community in less than 17 months.
State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Jide Ojuko who gave the commendation during the on- going assessment tour of LCDAs in Ado Odo/Ota axis, said the Council had performed well at consolidating on what the State Government had started, by reaching out to public schools in the area and touching the lives of members of the community through various projects.
The Commissioner said that though the LCDA was still young, its achievements had surpassed that of older local councils.
“Today Iju/ Atan/ Ilogbo LCDA has proven to be different, your arrangement, reception and organisation as well as various projects embarked upon are fantastic, what you have demonstrated in this Council practically showed that both political and career staff of the Council have been committed to ensure that dividends of democracy is visible all around ” Ojuko stated.
He therefore charged them not to relent on their oars but continue to harness both human and material resources at their disposal to boost their Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
Earlier, the Chairman of the LCDA, Hon. Ajayi had highlighted some projects executed to include the sinking of borehole at Primary Health Centre, Ilogbo, rehabilitation of lusada/ kooko road, provision of desks and chairs for pupils of Community Primary School , Abudu Iju, Ota, conversion of 10 lock-up shops to modern offices and the construction of 80 lock-up ultra modern shops for the use of the community, amongst others.
