Ogun State Head of Service, Engr. Isiaka Olanrewaju Bisiriyu has urged Civil Servants in the State to visit primary schools they attended in order to give back to the society and motivate pupils in public primary schools in the State towards spurring them to greatness.
Engr. Bisiriyu made the call in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, while receiving the Head Teacher of Ebenezer Baptist Primary School, Oke Saje, Abeokuta, the primary school he attended, who had come to felicitate with him on his appointment as the Head of Service.
The HoS said the Alma Mater Programme was thought out to encourage development in public primary schools through inclusive participation of all and sundry aimed at giving back to the institutions that served as the moulder of individual’s future.
He further urged all Public Servants to embrace the policy, as his administration would continue in the direction of his predecessor, to ensure that the programme achieved its aims.
Speaking earlier, the Head Teacher of the school, Mrs. Olubisi Kasali appreciated Governor Ibikunle Amosun for appointing a former pupil of the school as the number one civil servant in the State, saying it would serve as great source of inspiration to the pupils.
It would be recalled that the Alma Mater Endowment Programme was introduced in 2017 by the immediate past Head of Service, Mr. Abayomi Sobande with the aim of lending a hand to government at improving infrastructure in schools as well as offering mentorship to the younger generations towards living a successful life.
