Towards moving the education sector to a greater height, teachers in Ogun State have been enjoined to be more disciplined and efficient in the discharge of their duties.
The Head of Service, Tpl. (Mrs.) Amope Chokor, gave this charge while receiving the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS) of Nigeria, Ogun State Chapter in her office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, charging the union to ensure that teachers instill discipline and impart knowledge on students.
Mrs. Chokor said the union should be more productive, bring forth programmes that would improve the profession and ensure that schools resume and close at the appropriate time, imploring the body as an organ of labour, to adequately monitor affairs of its members.
She assured the union of human capacity development, so that teachers in the State would become, ‘World Best’ and be able to compete favourably with their colleagues.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Union, Comr. Akeem Lasisi, appreciated the present administration for demonstrating positive leadership by ensuring that salaries of workers were paid before month end, which he noted had encouraged workers to be more efficient in service delivery.
He promised that teachers in the State would double their efforts in the discharge of qualitative education.
