Ogun State Head of Service, Tpl (Mrs.) Amope Chokor has charged health workers across the State to be more active and improve on services rendered to the people, in order to support the “Building Our Future Together” agenda of this present administration.
The Head of Service, who gave this charge to members of National Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners (NAGGMDP), Ogun State Chapter, who were on a courtesy visit to her office at Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta, said, doctors should partner other health officers to meet the yearnings of the people.
She urged all health workers to work hard, and be regular at work, calling for erring officers to be disciplined so as to bring sanity into the system.
“I quite appreciate that you are all working hard like you have earlier said, but it is important that you are more productive, always stay at work and discipline those erring among you for sanity to reign.
We should support the Dapo Abiodun led administration with our inputs to meet the yearnings of our people in health sector. The Governor has done a lot in this sector through recruitment to fill vacancies, providing latest medical equipments in our hospitals”, HoS said.
In his remark, the Permanent Secretary, Hospital Management Board (HMB), Dr. Nafiu Aigoro tasked medical workers to cross-check facts, monitor news to know latest happenings within and outside Nigeria, promising that Government would look into the demands of the group.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the group, Dr. Oluwatosin Durojaye appreciated State Government’s efforts at improving the health sector, especially building of Intensive Care Units (ICUs) at Ilaro, saying that more infrastructural development were needed and promised that NAGGMDP would always charge members to work for what they earn and discipline anyone that erred.
The HoS also received members of Ijebu Youth Association of Nigeria, led by their national president, Comrade Babatunde Odunuga, with a charge on them to be law abiding citizens and shun all forms social vices.
She urged them to develop entrepreneurial skills and put in their best in all they do, saying other young ones are looking up to the association and therefore contribute meaningfully to the economy of the State and Nigeria at large.
Speaking earlier, Comrade Babatunde Odunuga said, the Association’s aim was to ensure the advancement, well being and empowerment of Ijebu youth, ‘’as Government alone cannot meet every need of the people”.
