HEALTH CARE DELIVERY: OGUN COMMISSIONS NEW SURGICAL WARD

Provision of qualitative and efficient healthcare services, has been the priority of the Senator Ibikunle Amosun led administration in Ogun State, to ensure that people are in good health and contribute meaningfully to the development of the State.

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Babatunde Ipaye, who stated this at the commissioning of a new Surgical Ward at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, said the new ward would serve as a Male Surgical and Paediatric Ward, accommodating over 40 beds.

Ipaye noted that this additional ward was to further meet the health needs of the citizenry, hinting that a new agency would be created to raise fund for the State’s health sector, so as to make healthcare delivery more affordable for the people.

In his remark, the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr. Peter Adefuye, disclosed that the new ward was not the only new structure, but old offices and buildings in the hospital premises were also renovated and converted for different use.
