The Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has felicitated with members of the Society of Women Accountant of Nigeria (SWAN), as it celebrates forty years of existence.
Speaking at the occasion, held at the Eko Hotels, Victoria Island, Lagos, Amosun said the history of the society could not be told without paying tributes to the founding members who initiated and conceptualize the idea.
Represented by his Deputy, Chief (Mrs.) Yetunde Onanuga, the Governor congratulated the executive and members of the Society for exhibiting professionalism and ethical standards, saying that their achievements which transcend membership had gone a long way in giving the female arm of the profession a veritable platform to contribute meaningfully to the development of the society.
He advised them to continue contributing to the development of the profession through sharing of experiences, exchanging of ideas with young members through seminars and symposiums, praying for the continued growth of the society, to enable it contribute to nation building.
Earlier in her welcome address, the SWAN National Chairperson, Mrs. Foluke Onasolu, appreciated her predecessors and initiator, Chief (Mrs.) Elizabeth Adegbite for her doggedness at advancing the profession.
She also expressed gratitude to the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun for his supports, especially to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) at all times.
