In a bid to ensure food sufficiency in the country, Ketu Local Council Development Area of Ogun State has raised over 5,000 Oil Palm Seedlings for sale to farmers in the State.
Chairman of the Council, Hon. Moses Adegbite disclosed this while speaking with newsmen at the Councils Headquarters, Tata, saying the effort was aimed at providing high yield seedlings to farmers to increase the supply of palm oil in the country, thereby boosting food supply.
Adegbite said the Council was blessed with fertile land, suitable for oil palm plantation in the whole of Ogun State, adding that, “Ketu LCDA is known to be an agrarian area, we grow what we eat. Go to our markets, you will see varieties of farm produce”.
He appreciated stakeholders for working towards ensuring peaceful coexitence, which he said would engender rapid development in the council area.
