FINANCE COMMISSIONER TASKS CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS ON DISCIPLINE, ICT COMPLIANCE

Ogun State Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Adewale Oshinowo has advised Chartered Accountants to embrace discipline as part of work ethics, towards upholding integrity and attaining excellence in their profession.

Oshinowo while counselling the accountants at a quarterly meeting of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Abeokuta district, held at the Oba’s Complex, Governor’s office, Oke-mosan, Abeokuta, said discipline was an inevitable virtue for any positive-minded and ambitious accountant to reach the peak of his career, without which excellence and probity may become elusive.

The Finance Commissioner who is also a Fellow of the Institute, said for them to continue to be relevant in the profession, members should endeavour to be ICT compliant, so as to meet up with present demands of the profession, in line with global practices,.

Oshinowo however solicited cordial relationship and mutual respect among the practitioners for a mutually beneficial synergy that would promote individuals and the body as a whole.
