The lawmaker representing Ijebu North II State Constituency, in the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Oludare Kadiri, says apart from making necessary legislations for the socio-economic development of his constituency and the State, he will continue to influence corporate organisations and interest groups to empower his constituents in various vocations.
Kadiri who stated this while distributing over 100 Grinding Machines to women in his constituency with the support of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) at an event held at Ago-Iwoye, pledged to also help facilitate resources, to further improve the people’s standard of living in the area.
He urged women in the State to continually support the Senator Ibikunle Amosun led-administration’s effort at ensuring improved standard of living for the women, with a view to advance their potentials to earn a decent living.
The Lawmaker disclosed that, the distribution of the free grinding machines meant to make the women self-reliant and alleviate poverty, was in continuation of his empowerment programme, listing some of his earlier support to his constituency to include, award of scholarship to indigent students, renovation of Ago-Iwoye Market, as well as financial support to aid trade and investment.
Earlier in his remarks, Alhaji Abidoye Amosun, commended the lawmaker for considering the women in the five wards of his constituency worthy of the empowerment, stating that the initiative would go a long way in providing a source of living for the beneficiaries.
Amosun while commending Kadiri for representing his Constituency adequately, by facilitating people-oriented projects to the area, said the distribution of the equipment would aid the spread of democratic dividends, expressing optimism that many more of his constituents would benefit from the good gesture.
In his remarks, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.Suraju Ishola Adekunbi, commended the residents of Ago-Iwoye for their support, commitment and prayers for the present administration, describing Kadiri as an active lawmaker who apart from always canvassing for the interest of his people, had contributed to the success of the 8th Legislature through quality contributions to motions and legislation processes.
He lauded the present administration for putting in place a formidable security network, alongside massive infrastructural development and employment generation, which had put the State ahead in the comity of States in the nation, assuring that the House of Assembly under his leadership would continue to enact more legislation for the advancement of all sectors of the State.
