All categories of drivers across Ogun State have been enjoined to adhere strictly to State Government’s directives to reduce the number of passengers being conveyed, to curb the spread of Covid-19.
The Corps Commander and Chief Executive Officer, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Commander Olaseni Ogunyemi gave the charge in his office at Abeokuta, following a press statement issued by the State Government on preventive measures against the spread of the virus, saying it became imperative to enlighten people, especially commercial drivers on the need to comply to the order, to avert undue contamination of the virus.
“We have directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Commanders, Unit Commanders and Headquarter Operations to sensitise commercial drivers and other road users at parks and garages to intensify enforcement of government directives and to check the excesses of the drivers”, Ogunyemi said.
He urged Officers to maintain social distancing, regular hand washing and usage of hand sanitiser, in order to contain the virus.
