Diverse campaign exercise, provision and teaching of locally made sanitizer, aimed at curbing the spread of corona virus among the market leaders, meat sellers in Abattoirs has begun across Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area.
Speaking during the sensitisation, the Chairman, Ijebu-Ode Local Government, Engr. Olugbenga Olugbile said it was necessary to alert and protect the people on safety measures against the pandemic.
“Ijebu-Ode Local Government is producing its own sanitizer which will be given free to every individual and at the same time we are teaching the market women how to make the sanitizer free of charge and how to use it”, Olugbile said.
He urged market leaders to mount hand washing buckets, soaps and water at all entry points of the markets to enable every individual wash their hands before entering the markets.
The Head of Local Government Administration, Dr Adeolu Olufowobi, also enjoined the market leaders to cooperate with the Local Government at sensitising traders and their customers, promising that Local Government authority would soon procure a temperature meter for checking the temperature of people that comes in to the markets.
The health Educator, in the Local Government, Mrs. Abiola Bakare, implored everyone to imbibe the habit of washing hands with liquid soap and running water regularly.
