COUNCIL OF CHIEFS LAUD GOVT’S INTERVENTION ON AGRICULTURE

The Ayetoro Traditional Council of Chiefs in Yewa North Local Government Area has showered encomium on the State Government for the cultivation of 650 hectares of land meant for cassava and rice production in the Council area, through the Federal Government Anchor Borrowers’ Programme.

 Speaking with newsmen in Ayetoro, the Baale of Joga, Chief Solomon Akinlotan, who described the development as revolutionary, said that it would assist participating farmers adopt mechanised farming to grow their crops in commercial quantity.

He also commended security agencies who collaborated with traditional rulers to curb the excesses of herdsmen, encouraging them to sustain the tempo.

Also, the Oga Ilu of Ayetoro and the President, Iteti Agbe Agricultural Cooperative, Chief Ishola Olateju praised government for fulfilling its promises to local farmers.
